How to Record and Send your Carol Video
So that we can sing carols together this year we want you to record a video of you and your family members singing Silent Night. We’ll put these all together into a video montage and show them on the night as a virtual carol choir.
It’s important that you listen to the singalong track on headphones when you record the video. If you just sing along to the track playing out loud then we won’t be able to use your audio track but (we can still show your video!)
Don’t worry if you can’t sing or sound awful. This is just for fun and there should be enough of us that we can manage few stray notes. Just get the cat and the dog to join in if you sound really bad.
We suggest that you record each member of the family separately but if you can do it in a group and all wear headphones then go for it! Don’t be afraid to dress up for the occasion on a Christmas theme.

| 3. | Prop up Device #2 ready to record (Sideways in Landscape mode) |
| 4. | Plug some headphones into Device #1 so you can hear the track |
| 5. | Start recording the video on Device #2 |
| 6. | Start playing the audio track on Device #1 |
| 7. | CLAP! when you are told to do so, then SING ALONG!!! |
| 7. | Stop the video |
| 8. | Send your video via WeTransfer to leylandroadmedia@gmail.com In the message put: + Your Name + Phone number (Optional in case we need to check permissions) + Permission to Publish your video as part of the montage + Parental permission if the video has under 18’s in it. |

Your video and audio will be edited into a virtual choir format and shown in small tiles on the screen or maybe in brief close ups. This video will be broadcast on You Tube as part of our Carols on the Lawn event at 4pm opn Christmas Eve 2020. The video may also be used in our virtual worship for the Southport Methodist Circuit. Please don’t send us any video that you do not want used for this purpose.
Your contact details will only be used to contact you about the video making process (e.g. to check your parental permission). They will also be used to send you information about the event itself so you won’t miss it.
If you have any queries, particularly about what the video will be used for please don’t hesitate to contact the church office and someone will get back to you.
The safety of the young people amonst us is very important to us. Remember we would love to have whole families on the video but will not be able to use any recordings of children under the age of 18 without explicit permission from a parent or guardian.
Please don’t send us any images that are not suitable to be shown to the whole family. We reserve the right to leave out any videos or audio that is not appropriate.
